About Me

I think the title says it all. I'm book curious. I want to read good books. I want to know about the next big series or "OMG! You have to read this!" book recommendation. I also want to know about the authors, what they're like, how they write, where you can meet them (virtually or in person). I want to know if my friends, family, or students like the same books I do. What part? Why?

I love the word curious. It's an attitude I always want to have. I also like the word crazy, as in, "You're crazy." I figure it's better than, "You're boring."

Reading and curiosity (and craziness) are all part of what led me to be a teacher. I teach 7th grade English/Language Arts in a junior high in middle America. I want to share my curiosity, as well as my absolute love of reading, with my students. They don't always want me to. So I need new ways to share, and this summer I have been learning about ways that technology can help me to share my interest in books (and writing, and those other English things) with my students.

And that's how this blog was born. As a way to share all things book with students and teachers and even anonymous lurkers. It might have reviews, links, videos, photos, and if I'm lucky, I'll get students to be guest bloggers and share their thoughts, too.

I'm also learning a lot about teaching and using technology to increase what students learn. If you're a student, you might find that a bit boring, but if you're a teacher it might be worth reading. So I started another blog (!) at the same time, to explore all that teacher stuff. You can check out that learning and teaching journey here.

Check back soon. Hopefully you'll find something you're curious about, too.
